Skeet For Scholars Tournament Fundraiser

Skeet For Scholars will be held on October 24th, 2009 at the Stein Gun Club, Hester Ranch in Mission Valley.

Event Proceeds:

All proceeds from the shoot will benefit the Victoria Area Texas Exes Scholarship Fund. This fund provides scholarships for local students entering The University of Texas from Jackson, Victoria and Goliad counties.

Sponsorships:

We are currently seeking sponsors for our event. All sponsorship levels include event recognition and many include complimentary entry into the tournament. Sponsorship opportunities range from $150 - $1,000. For more information, contact the Tournament Committee Chairman, Stephen McHaney at accounting @ victorialonghorns.org.

Entry Fee:

$100 shooter
$50 non-shooter
$50 jr. shooter

Tournament Format:

25 Skeet, 25 Trap and 24 country doubles (74 total birds)

Prizes: Winners will be paid on a modified Louis system which gives people at all skill levels a chance to win a prize. Take $20 of each entry fee will be placed into the prize pool.

Class AA – 33% of total pot paid 60/40 to first and second in division
Class A – 33% of total pot paid 60/40 to first and second in division
Class B – 33% of total pot paid 60/40 to first and second in division
Class C – if more than 45 shooters add this class, same pay out but split total pot by 4

Side Money:

High Range Option Pots: $10 side bet for each shooter betting on who will be the best shooter on each of the three ranges (skeet, trap, country doubles)

Practice Rounds: $10 to shoot a practice round on one of the ranges prior to start of tournament. This is also offered to people who don’t want to participate in the tournament but still want to shoot.

Ammo: Ammo is available for purchase at the tournament site for $10 per box.

Silent Auction:

The following silent auction items will be available for bidding at the event. Proxy bids may be submitted to Paul Cohen prior to the event.

Bay Fishing Trip donated by Greg Haynes

Includes one day fishing and one night lodging in Rockport Texas for four people. Trip is guided by Capt. Greg Haynes. Value: $550

South Victoria County Dove Hunt donated by Stephen McHaney

Includes a dove hunt for four people at the Gordon Ranch in southern Victoria County. Value: $500
