TEXAS EXES - AUSTIN

Since 1885, The Texas Exes have been a strong, cohesive source of support for the University and its continued tradition of excellence. With one of the broadest programs of fellowship and service of any alumni association in the nation, The Texas Exes membership totals more than 82,000 dues-paying alumni and friends of the University. All scholarships are for full-time students attending The University of Texas at Austin .

In the last ten years, the scholarship program has grown from giving $420,000 to 357 students to one that awards more than $2 million to 700 recipients from scholarships established by alumni, friends, and UT student groups.

VICTORIA AREA CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIPS

In addition to the Austin scholarship program, the Victoria Area Chapter of the Texas Exes offers scholarships to local students attending the University.  The following information is provided for those interested in applying for a local scholarship.

• Basis of Award:  Merit
• Amount of Award:  Varies based on fundraising (event proceeds and donations).  In 2009, five $1,200 scholarships were awarded.
• Eligible Schools: 
  •   Eastern Region:  Ganado High School, Edna High School, Industrial High School
  •   Central Region:  Memorial High School, St. Josephs High School, Bloomington 
  •   Western Region:  Goliad High School
